Our story
Welcome to Tilted Platter!
I’m Kerri, the founder of Tilted Platter, a Charcuterie & Wine Education business that blossomed in 2020 during the pandemic lockdown. What started as a creative outlet during a challenging time in my personal life has grown into a thriving business that supports and uplifts our community.
My Journey
Tilted Platter began when a friend gave away six of my arrangements to raffle-winning clients, sparking interest and engagement in the community. This venture became not only a source of financial support but also a way to channel my passion for art and creativity. Through Tilted Platter, I found a way to support other local, female-owned businesses by purchasing specialty and artisanal food products directly from and promoting them.
Empowering Women
Supporting women is at the heart of what I do. Over the years, my outreach has connected me with many incredible women, including those newly released from prison or in drug rehabilitation. By hiring them to deliver arrangements, I provided them with opportunities to earn money and gain referrals for future employment. We focused on developing skills like punctuality, presentation, and honesty, helping them build a foundation for success.
My Passion for Wine and Cheese
My love for wine began in 2002 when I moved to Napa Valley to study at The Culinary Institute of America. Over 12 years as a Wine Specialist for Whole Foods, I deepened my knowledge of international and local wine regions, earning certifications as a Sommelier and WSET level 2 with distinction. Alongside wine, I developed a passion for cheese, spending countless hours cutting, tasting, and learning about it.
Mastering Flavors
With a rich background in wine and cheese, I’ve honed my ability to pair flavors masterfully. My mobile courses are engaging and interactive, making wine approachable and fun. I teach with enthusiasm and humor, ensuring everyone enjoys the experience.
Looking Ahead
I’m excited to share that I’m building a fleet of mobile cheese service trailers to serve Sonoma and Napa counties. These trailers will bring local flavors and charcuterie art directly to you. More importantly, they will support entrepreneurial women in the community by training them in the art of charcuterie and allowing them to create small businesses within mine. This initiative will foster ongoing relationships with local artisanal food producers and support my passions for wine, cheese, art, and community.
Thank you for being a part of this journey. I look forward to sharing my love for flavors and supporting our community together.
